KPV

What is KPV?

KPV is a tripeptide fragment derived from the naturally occurring alpha-Melanocyte-Stimulating Hormone (α-MSH).

Its sequence — Lys-Pro-Val — represents the anti-inflammatory core of α-MSH, studied for its potential to reduce inflammation, promote skin healing, and support intestinal health.

KPV has drawn significant interest in research for its powerful immunomodulatory and barrier-repairing effects, particularly in gut and skin tissues.

How It Works

KPV exerts its effects through modulation of inflammatory pathways and cellular protection mechanisms, including:

  1. Inhibiting NF-κB activation — suppresses pro-inflammatory cytokines

  2. Enhancing epithelial barrier integrity — strengthens gut and skin linings

  3. Promoting tissue regeneration — supports wound healing and cellular renewal

  4. Reducing oxidative stress — protects against inflammation-induced damage

This makes it a promising subject for research into colitis, dermatitis, and systemic inflammatory regulation.

Potential Research Benefits

Anti-inflammatory

Decreased TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β production

Gut health

Improved intestinal barrier and microbiome balance

Skin health

Accelerated wound healing and reduced irritation

Immune modulation

Balanced inflammatory and immune responses

Cellular protection

Reduced oxidative stress and tissue damage

Dosing

Injectable (subcutaneous)

250–500 mcg daily

Once daily

Oral capsule (experimental form)

250–500 mcg daily

Once daily:

  • Half-life: ~2–3 hours (short-acting peptide)

  • Cycle duration (research): 4–6 weeks

  • Combination studies: Often researched alongside BPC-157 for synergistic healing effects
